Description: 

This REU program will provide undergraduates considering a career in science with the opportunity to engage in research with professional astronomers working on cutting-edge problems in astrophysics. The REU students will be full-time research assistants to a faculty mentor and will work on specific aspects of an ongoing research program. Astronomers at the IfA conduct research in a wide range of astrophysical disciplines, including solar physics, planetary astronomy, stellar astronomy, the interstellar medium and star formation, galaxies and stellar systems, observational and theoretical cosmology, and theoretical stellar dynamics.
   

Benefits: 

$450/week, travel support, and housing
