Description: 

UC LEADS (Leadership Excellence through Advanced Degrees) at UCI is designed to identify educationally or economically disadvantaged undergraduates pursuing courses of study in science, mathematics, or engineering who are likely to succeed in graduate school. This program provides students with educational experiences that prepare them to assume positions of leadership in industry, government, public service, and academia following the completion of a doctoral degree, preferably, at the University of California. UC LEADS Scholars participate in two summer research experiences. The initial experience takes place on the student's home campus. The second summer research experience occurs at another UC campus. Students will receive housing and stipend expenses, which will be paid by the home campus.
