Description:

The Wadsworth Center has hosted an NSF-funded Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) summer program nearly continuously for over 25 years. The program has trained more than 300 students. The Center is unique in having a melding (no walls) between diverse and dynamic research fields, including cellular and structural biology, molecular genetics, and theoretical and computational modeling. We believe that creative inquiry in scientific research is a cognitive skill which can be taught by mentors in our research laboratories, learned by summer interns, and then applied toward their career goals.
