Description:

The Neurological Sciences Institute welcomes college undergraduates interested in neuroscience to apply for the Neurological Sciences Institute Summer Fellowship Program. Research projects use biochemical, biophysical, electro-physiological, histochemical, immunological, mathematical, molecular and psychophysical techniques to study functions and disorders of the central nervous system. Experimental procedures in use include neuronal cell cultures, organ cultures, animal models and human subjects, including patients with neurologically related diseases.

The Institute invites summer fellows to work as part of a research team in an established laboratory at our brand new building on the West Campus of OHSU, alongside a staff member whose research interests complement the student's own. A special neuroscience lecture series, weekly research seminars, and access to other laboratories at the Institute combine to make this program a comprehensive, creative and accelerated learning experience.
