Description: 

The Summer Medical and Research Training (SMART) Program was developed to provide frontier-level, biomedical summer research projects for undergraduates in a supportive environment with supplemental educational activities.

The program includes a unique daily seminar series created just for program participants, evening movies or talks by patients that provide a "human face" to the cutting edge science you learn in the seminar series. Career development events, like the exciting "Graduate School Night," help you learn about career options and make connections with others who have faced the decisions that you are considering.

This site provides useful information that communicates the excitement of participating in a unique program designed just for talented, motivated undergraduates whose idea of fun is to spend a summer learning about and participating in headline grabbing biomedical research
   

Benefits: 

Compensation package of approximately $5,000. Depending on the funding source, compensation will be all salary or a combination of salary and allocation for housing or travel.
