American Rivers is a leader of a nationwide river conservation movement and offers volunteer internships in various aspects of river conservation, public policy, public communications, and online community development. Students have the opportunity to work in various fields: environmental protection, conservation policy, citizen correspondence, legislative issues, development, public policy, fundraising, public relations or communications, and archives. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in restoration ecology, hydrology, environmental engineering and urban planning.
